Description of Program: Independent Sound Production & Business emphasizes all the skills necessary to becoming a successful music producer in today’s entertainment industry.

Departmental Emphases: Music Theory, Musicology, Music Technology, Business, Retail & Consumer Services, Theatre, and Audiology & Speech Pathology

Faculty Mentor: Sean McCollough, Music and Joe Payne, Theatre

Plans after graduation (career, graduate/professional school, etc.): An Independent Sound Production & Business degree will allow me to set a unique path towards an ideal master’s program. I plan to get my M.B.A. while actively working in the music industry after graduating. With an M.B.A., I can get one step closer to completing my long-term goal of opening a successful record label.

Other Academic Interests: French, Graphic Design, Drawing, and Photography

Study Abroad: I plan to study abroad in Paris for the summer of 2020.

Research Experiences or Internships: I plan to intern at a local Knoxville recording studio and/or entertainment agency.

Part-time employment; Hobbies; Campus Clubs/Activities: I am currently employed at the Clarence Brown Theatre and I deejay at WUTK 90.3 FM. Furthermore, I enjoy producing music, playing piano, and studying music charts and entertainment history in my spare time.
