Admission

Admission to the program is based on previous academic accomplishments, test scores, references, written answers to some questions, and an interview. Students can apply after one semester at UT, Knoxville or as late as the end of their sophomore year. Applications are accepted during the fall and spring semesters of each year, and deadlines are October 15 and March 15 respectively.

Before applying, interested students should schedule a meeting with the Director to learn more about the program and the admissions process.  Prospective applicants are also encouraged to discuss their interests with other students in the program who are listed in the Directory section of this website.

Upon review by the Director, applicants will be invited for an interview conducted by the director of the program and a panel of current Scholars.
