Title of Program

Neurotechnology and Political Policy

Hometown

Austin, Texas

Description of Program

I combine the fields of Neuroscience, Computer Science/Cybersecurity, and Political Science to facilitate communication between policymakers and newly emerging Neurotechnologies. My goal is to help both parties better understand one another, recognize the technologies’ drawbacks and dangers, and support the development of more productive and preemptive policies. I aim to better comprehend the science behind Brain-Computer Interface technology and, at the same time, hold a deep knowledge of existing legal policies and where they fall short. With courses in these fields, I am provided with a deep understanding of the biological and cognitive functions on which this technology is built upon, equipped with insight into the mechanisms of algorithms, and educated on the limitations of current public policy.

Departmental Emphases

Neuroscience, Computer Science/Cybersecurity, and Political Science

Anticipated Graduation Date

May 2028

Plans After Graduation

After graduation, I am considering either attending graduate school or pursuing a career in the intelligence field.

I would love the opportunity to spend a semester abroad, ideally during my junior year.
