Computational Biology and Biomedical Machine Learning

The world is changing quickly. With technological advances tackling more complex data while reducing computing time, the medical field has been reshaped entirely. Now, the rise of computational biology has resulted in new disease diagnostics, drug therapies, and health information for patients. My program focuses on the emphasis of computer science—specifically machine learning—to biomedical and life science problems. I accomplish this by simultaneously taking courses in computer science, biology, and chemistry.

Pursue an MD/PhD. Interested in specializing in Oncology/immunology and pursuing a PhD in Computer Science/Computational biology. I’d like to focus my research on using machine learning and novel computational techniques to address disease at a longitudinal scale: identifying disease pathways with systems biology, and developing therapeutics for patients with structural biology.
