Description of Program
In today’s society there are many uprising issues with the healthcare system. As someone who is an aspiring physician, I believe that the best way to treat someone is to have a holistic view of the situation, which means understanding both their environment and the current standings of healthcare policy. I would like to be a part of a healthcare reformation that creates physicians who do not just understand how to treat illnesses but also how to advocate for and educate others on how to take special care of sensitive populations. My proposed program of study will provide me with the facets I need to understand how to practice reformative medicine, specifically in the aging population, as a cornerstone course in my program is The Public Health Aspects of Aging. I will also have the ability to grow in my knowledge about Political Science and Public Policy, Social Work, Communications, and also Social Sciences, like Sociology, Anthropology, and Psychology. My program not only will allow me to study what I am truly passionate about, but it will also allow me to gain more insight into issues that are of utmost importance in today’s society.
