Title of Program: Emerging Technologies in Museums

E-mail Address: sburke10@vols.utk.edu

Hometown: Collierville, TN

Year: Freshman

Anticipated Graduation Date: May 2023

Description of Program: As our world continues to digitize, museums deserve to use the Internet of Things as a pathway to increasing their accessibility. There is nothing more important to me than being able to share the beauty that exists within museums with as many people as possible. I dream of the day people are able to see millions of works of art, natural specimens, cultural objects, and anything in-between at their local museum. As augmented reality technology continues to progress this is increasingly a reality. However, the red tape of the museum world still threatens its progression. My program will teach me how to cut through this red tape and break into creating the next generation of museum experiences.
