Description of Program: The field of Peace Studies and Conflict Management attempts to understand why conflict occurs and how to resolve said conflict without escalation to violence. By studying the interactions between states, people, and institutions, policies can be created to avoid conflict. In order to develop those types of policies, a deep understanding of people, societies, and states is required.

Departmental Emphases: Political Science, Anthropology, and Sociology

Faculty Mentor: Dr. Krista Wiegand, Department of Political Science

Plans after graduation (career, graduate/professional school, etc.): After graduation, I intend to obtain a Master's in Peace and Conflict Studies. Afterwards, I would persue a JD in international law.

Other Academic Interests: Environmental Science, Pyschology, Geography, Philosophy, Meterology

Prior Enrollment at Other Colleges or Universities: N/A

Study Abroad: While I currently do not have plans to study abroad, I have travelled throughout Southeastern Europe.

Research Experiences or Internships: Over the summer of 2016, I will be researching the costs of war under the guidance of Dr. Wiegand.

Part-time employment; Hobbies; Campus Clubs/Activities: Executive Board Member of Sexual Empowerment and Awareness at Tennessee (SEAT), Event Management Chair of the Issues Committee (Campus Events Board), Student Senator for the College of Arts & Sciences (Student Government Association).
